You finished the last episode of Friends. Ever. You pause. You question your whole life and the moments leading up to this. You conclude that now you have to hunt for another show on Netflix. But that is no easy task. There are so many possible TV shows to stream on Netflix; 1,197 TV shows, to be exact. So, here are just a few captivating binge worthy shows that you may not have noticed.

   

Lost: This show starts off with a gory plane crash on a desert island, and from there it gets weirder and weirder. From tropical polar bears, to an evil entity that inhabits the island, this show has everything strange. The characters are gripping because of each of their intricate back stories. Jack, one of the main protagonists, and also the only doctor takes the role of being the survivors leader. This show isn’t predictable at all, and takes twists you will never expect. This show is for you if you enjoy Grey’s Anatomy or Arrow.

 

The Fosters: This drama focuses around the lives of the Fosters, a family made up of two lesbian moms, one of their biological sons, two adopted kids, and two fostered kids. It includes real problems, but in a unique family situation. Each episode will leave you wanting to watch another because of the conflicts and drama each teen comes into contact with every day. Their problems range from dating, to drugs, to being chased down by the police.

 

The Blacklist: The Blacklist is not an ordinary crime show with police detectives and bad guys. It follows the life of Elizabeth Keen, a profiler for the FBI. But on her first day of work, a fugitive turns himself in and offers his help to find the world’s most dangerous killers, if the FBI grants him immunity. Every episode tells about a new criminal with a creepy story. The Blacklist is definitely not for those with a weak stomach, but the engaging story line far outweighs the blood and gore.

 

New Girl: New Girl is a quirky comedy that is about a woman named Jess who, after finding out her boyfriend is cheating on her, moves into an apartment with three male roommates. Throughout the first season, Jess helps them and gives them advice, and they help her get over her ex. This show is funny, but has a unique sense of humor. You would like New Girl if you liked Modern Family.

 

Parks & Rec: Parks and Rec is a hilarious comedy series that will leave you laughing at every episode. It follows various employees at the Parks and Recreation office in a small town in Indiana. This show has seven seasons, but if you can’t handle cringey and awkward moments, this show might not be the best fit.


Stranger Things: After elementary student Will Byers goes missing, everything starts going downhill in Hawkins, Indiana. Stranger Things, taking place in 1983, is a captivating story including a monster from another dimension, a telepathic girl, and government conspiracy. There is only one season with only eight episodes, but a season two is confirmed for later this year, so binge away.

 

The 100: Hundreds of years into the future, Earth is completely radioactive, and everyone lives on a space station, but it is getting too crowded. So 100 teenagers that were in jail on the space station are sent down to test the environment on Earth, and it’s livable, but they soon find out they’re not the only ones there. The story line for this show is incredible, it has so many twists and turns, and just when you think things couldn’t be worse for them, something worse happens. You would enjoy this show if you like Lost, because they are strikingly similar.
