Walking past room 102 you can hear loud arguments one day, and practically nothing the next. Every Tuesday after school in room 102 West High's debate team prepares for their upcoming tournaments.

Research is a key part of having successful arguments. The topic is picked and sent nation wide for each team to research and gather their information to be affirmative or negative.

West High has been very successful. This February the partnerships, Ethan Trepka ’18 /Pranav Krishnamurthy ’18 and Lauren Ernst ’18/Mason Wang ’18 qualified for the National Speech & Debate Association’s national tournament to be held later this summer in Birmingham, Alabama. Here Trepka describes his experience on the debate team.
