Ghost Rider: Brock Pelfrey

Motorcycles, motorcycles, motorcycles. This is what is going through junior Brock Pelfrey’s mind all the time. Pelfrey’s passion for motorcycles started when he was a kid. Ever since, he has wished for his own motorcycle. His wish came true recently when he bought his motorcycle, a Harley Davidson Heritage. “What do I think of it? It’s pretty dope,” said Pelfrey about his motorcycle.”It’s his baby,” said Brett Pelfrey, Brocks younger brother.

“My philosophy of life? I dunno. I ain’t scared.”

Pelfrey rides his motorcycle anywhere he can. To school, to work, to wrestling practice, weather permitting. When asked what his favorite thing about his bike, he replied ”Favorite thing? Sounds nice, Sounds good.”

Pelfrey is not blind to the dangers of biking, however, and he wears a half helmet, a helmet resembling a baseball helmet, when riding. “The most dangerous thing is on the highway and if someone cuts you off, then if that happens you die,” Pelfrey said. Just recently this happened to him. Pelfrey was riding along and was cut off by a car. Pelfrey swerved to avoid a collision and was thrown off his bike. Lucky he came away from the accident unscathed. “When I went to swerve, I got knocked off and I did a flip and landed on my back. I wasn’t hurt though,” Pelfrey said about the accident.

Along with his passion for Harleys, he also enjoys wrestling and football. He hopes to be a varsity wrestler, and this year he’s sure he’ll be a varsity heavyweight. Pelfrey loves to watch football but can’t play for West after receiving three concussions at practice. “Yeah, got three concussions, so my coach said I gotta sit out,” Pelfrey said with a hint of disappointment  in his voice.

When he’s not watching football or wrestling, he watches “The Office.” He also is highly respected by his younger brother.”He’s reliable. If he says something, he’ll do it,” says Brett Pelfrey.

Brick wants to be a Harley Davidson mechanic an was inspired by his older brother and father. “I think I’m a good mechanic, but my older brother is, like, up here compared to me. Like he is really good.”

Brick enjoys riding with his family, so If you see a family of riders, it’s probably Brock Pelfrey. “My philosophy of life? I dunno. I ain’t scared.”
