It’s seventh period and some of our West High basketball players spend their last few minutes of the school day shooting hoops and joking around.

Over the course of this unit, I’ve learned a lot about behind the scenes of photographers in the newspaper here at West. I definitely struggled with getting creative with my pictures but in the end, I really enjoyed snapping photos in the school with my friends and experimenting with different lighting and angles. Most of these photos were taken from my phone, but when I had the chance to use a camera, I had a lot of fun using the various settings and having my pictures turn out better quality. Overall this unit definitely brought out a creative side in me and let my go out and do things that I normally wouldn’t be comfortable doing. While I most likely won’t be a photographer in the future, I really liked learning about photography and I will definitely keep taking pictures.
