Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Review
May 24, 2017
Every year, new movies come out – some good, some bad. While many of them are only worth watching once, there are a few that stand out. One movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, has the potential to become a timeless classic, making a domestic gross profit of $300 million and a worldwide gross of over $700 million since its release in theaters on May 5. Within its first three weeks it has placed 84th on the list of all-time worldwide grosses, making it the 18th fastest movie to reach $300 million in profit. With such rapid success in the U.S and internationally, the movie has become a must-watch film for any action or comic fans.
While IMDb gives the movie a rating of 8.1 out of 10, I personally think it deserves a solid 8.8 out of 10, according to my very accurate (and made up) calculations. While the movie’s continuous action and adventure made it entertaining to watch, there were some things I would have changed. Star-Lord’s dad turning out to be a crazy-minded psycho wanting to take over the universe was disappointing, since he’s still left without a father figure to look up to. And even though baby Groot is super adorable, five whole minutes of him solely focused on him dancing may be a bit too much. Overall, it was captivating and thrilling to watch and is a must-see for any comic, action or sci-fi fan out there.
