Bottled Water Review

Bottled waters in order from my favorite to least favorite.

Tasting the differences in waters is hard for some people, but for others not so much. Personally, I am a picky water drinker. I would usually drink out of a reusable water bottle from home, that’s my favorite. Before taste testing the bottled waters my favorite bottled water was Fiji water. I think it is the most clean tasting and it doesn’t have an unnatural aftertaste.

I taste tested Fiji, Aquafina, Voss, Dasani, and ice mountain bottled water. The one I liked most was still Fiji water because it tasted natural and clean. It also didn’t have an aftertaste. My second choice would have to be Aquafina (made by Pepsi). It tasted very clean, but it did have a bit of an odd aftertaste. It tasted a bit like tap water, but close to normal water. My third choice is ice mountain water (made by nestle). It is 100 percent natural spring water and tastes pretty good quality. It barely has an aftertaste but it tastes a bit like metal. My fourth choice is Dasani (made by coke). To me it tasted like minerals. On the bottle is says ¨enhanced with minerals for a pure, fresh taste¨ I do not think this gives it a fresh taste. Lastly Voss, it has the most unnatural aftertaste and doesn’t taste clean.

36.8 percent the students from West High said that their preferred bottled water was Fiji water. They said this because it is the most natural tasting and it tastes cooling and fresh. Some even said they like it because it makes them feel rich…$2.99 for a 16oz water is a bit ridiculous compared to other brands. A typical price for bottled water is $1.50. Fiji water is from rain in Fiji and it is filtered through volcanic rock.

21.1 percent of students answered Dasani. This is because it tastes clean and it is most commonly bought by their parents. To me, Dasani has a bit of a bitter taste. That’s because it has Magnesium Sulfate in it.

15.8 percent of students prefer Aquafina. One student said this was because it has the closest taste to normal water. I would have to agree with this student. Aquafina goes through a 7 steps of filtration which should make for a clean tasting water.

10.5 percent of students prefer ice mountain water. This was because the design is nice and it reminds them that they are drinking clean and fresh water. Ice Mountain water is 100 percent natural spring water.

10.5 percent of students prefer Voss. One student said they like Voss because the bottle is cool. Along with Fiji water, Voss is more on the expensive side for a bottled water. Voss costs $2.75 per 16 ounce bottle.  5.3 percent answered other.
