Fantasy and it’s fantastic thrills
one writer and readers opinion on the fantasy genre in general and why it’s the best genre
Fantasy is a fun genre full of wonder and life, of animals that change into people and talk. It’s full of dragons and people with huge feathery angel wings or beautiful fairy wings. Worlds full of men who turn into animals on a full moon. There are lots of different genres and lots of different ideas on which one is the best. To one person, that could be science fiction to another it could be nonfiction. To some it’s fantasy. The fantasy genre is fun and full of action and fictional beings like men with tails or girls with cat ears.
Fantasy is a way of seeing something that is more or less likely not going to actually happen to happen in a book. A
fictional story of a girl with a tail falling in love with a man. Having things that don’t exist like mermaids cause for more interesting story lines. Like how Ariel can’t breathe out of the water which creates an entire world under the water that wouldn’t have been seen otherwise. Books like Shadowhunters full of demons and magical people that get their magic from tattoos. That’s more interesting than a book of George Washington’s life.
The fantasy genre is a way to get out of the world that is here and lot’s of people say stuff like fantasy is different from something like science fiction. It’s is not really. Science fiction is a way of saying fantasy with more technological kinds of themes. Think about it, the possibility of a huge weapon that could get rid of planets actually existing when we haven’t even seen all of space. It’s unlikely.

Fantasy does however sometimes bring in aspects from other genres in them. Like some books with the history of the entire city the book is set in. Therefore, some fantasy books end up being over 1000 pages. It also takes a while for fantasy books to be published and it’s easy to get writers block with them, I should know, I write fantasy. Some fantasy books take years to write but that’s with other books.
It is much like other genres, science fiction is a lot like it and so is fiction sometimes. Some genres are products of fantasy itself. fantasy is what gives most the other genres the personality that makes it that genre.
Writing fantasy is another story. It’s fun and exciting to write and gives a new challenge and allows really for your mind to go wild on imagination and thinking of characters when there’s so many possibilities. It’s just so fun to write which kinda explains why a lot of fantasy books are long cause it’s hard to stop.
On the negative side however, it’s a lot easier to get writers block and not know what to write when writing fantasy. That’s annoying, it’s like stopping progression and it does make people sad if you can’t do what you love. Writer’s block is common among all genres but mostly in a genre where you can make up the world and it’s laws and looks, sometimes that’s just hard to do.
The point is, all genres are great but fantasy is by far the most fun or interesting to both read and write. Fantasy in general is just more fun to write and read about compared to a book of ships or something like that. It causes for worlds that wouldn’t be real if it were not for our imaginations and it’s just amazing, of course that’s coming from one opinion.
