Family photos. This phrase strikes fear into the thousands of people forced to take annual pictures in matching sweaters with their families. Like those people, I too was subject to turtleneck torture. So you can imagine my immediate horror when my journalism teacher assigned a photography project. Despite my initial hesitation, I sucked it up and took the required pictures. As the project progressed, though, I found myself bonding with my siblings when I begged to take their pictures and they woefully agreed. The photoshoots might not have turned out the way I had in mind, but I had a newfound respect for all photographers and my siblings. In the end, I think I really learned about myself through this project.
