John Li Photo Portfolio

The red berries of a plant outside on our porch. They are actually fake plastic plants that my dad bought from Walmart.

Originally I was very scared of this photography unit, but  as the unit progressed I realized that it photography is actually very fun. I learned a lot about taking good photos and how cameras work. Previously, my dad had bought an expensive camera and I had no idea how to navigate the thing, but now I am able to change many different settings such as aperture, shutter-speed and ISO to make a picture come out cooler. Before, I only did things that felt comfortable to me and that I was used to in school, so this whole unit was a little weird for me. Generally I dreaded anything that wasn’t math or science.  It was actually pretty cool getting out of my comfort zone and going more on the artsy side in school. For the event I covered, I took photos at the Mississippi Valley Conference Swim Meet.
