For many bands are good entertainment?, for others it a way of life, for Sachiko Goto 23’ it’s a passion that keeps her doing band. Goto originally played the bass trombone; she never considered going back to bass trombone when asked if she wanted to switch “Not really, definitely not when I’m walking to school cuz thank God I don’t have to carry a bass trombone for 10 minutes walking and the bass trombone is pretty bulky whereas trumpet is compact.” Goto also added “I really enjoy trumpet so I really haven’t thought much about going back to the bass trombone. It’s more of just like now keep going with the trumpet see how far I can go.”

Goto mentioned how band was challenging in seventh and eighth grade, “band, got really competitive. I really love doing band but once I got into junior high, that’s when band was more like go against people in your own section, see who can get to the top, versus work together with everyone just have fun making music. And that was a lot of pressure for me.” Goto confessed her concerns about how the band was getting harder in 7th and 8th grade added with the GPA.

Audrey Parrish 23′ recalled some fun memories Goto had with her “We really like just talking and making fun of other people in band. Of course, it’s not mean or anything, just if someone does something stupid we ten to make fun of it. Also, when she threatens to kill people with her ice skates. Those are fun times.” Parrish added about inside jokes, ” One inside joke that sticks out is either Kyle 4.0 or Sachiko 4.0. Or really, just adding 4.0 to anything or anyone that is doing something. Then, of course, there is the classic, “YEAH DAMIEN!”
